Breakout Lawrence

Date Night in Lawrence, KS

An hour that is not another dinner and a movie, plus what to do after on Mass Street.

Dinner and a movie means three hours of not talking to each other. An escape room is sixty minutes of having to.

Why it's a good date

You find out quickly whether the two of you problem-solve well together, which is more information than most third dates produce. It's also private — all of our games are automatically private, so it really is just the two of you in there.

Can two people do it?

Yes. Every room takes a minimum of two players except Civil War Escape, which needs three. Two people in a room built for six is genuinely harder, so if it's a first attempt, take Alice in Wonderland or NORAD: 1963 (both 7/10) rather than Room 13 (9/10) — and use the hints, that's what they're for.

Making a night of it

We're at 727 Massachusetts St, in the middle of downtown, which means dinner, drinks, and the walk between them are all within a couple of blocks. Book the room first and eat after — you'll have something to talk about.

Timing

We're open until 10:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, which makes an early-evening game and a late dinner easy. Arrive 15 minutes before your start time; downtown parking on a weekend takes longer than you think.
